Iron Velvet gallery was a project gallery space led by Young Jeon. The gallery took its name from the phrase An Iron hand in a Velvet glove. Located in an apartment on the UES, Iron Velvet invited artists to create a site-specific installation responding to the residential space. Additional programming was made available, such as artist-led workshops and an accompanying parallel online exhibition highlighting research on the exhibiting artists in the metaverse space.

"Since the rent in New York City is expensive, the spaces in the city are evolving into not just residential but to a space with various functions and purposes. I also wanted to transform my most private space into a shared space for art and culture, expanding the functions and meanings of a home. So, I opened up my entire studio apartment as an exhibition space…At Iron Velvet, our goal is to maintain our unique character that combines the aesthetics of relational art and site-specific art while developing a dynamic community. We strive to support and promote artists while providing audiences with new experiences through sustainable programs. To achieve this, we plan to showcase more advanced forms of exhibitions and platforms through systematic networking with institutions in New York and Seoul."
